Maxillofacial Prosthodontist

After graduating high school in 1977, Dr. Davis attended school here in Atlanta to become a Dental Technician and graduated from this two year program first in his class. He next attended The University of Pittsburgh/ Eye & Ear Hospital to study Maxillofacial Technology, being one of the three selected to attend the one-year program. He then entered college at Georgia State University and three years later was accepted to Dental School at the Medical College of Georgia. He graduated from the four-year dental program in just three years, being the first to ever graduate early and finished second in his class. He stayed on at MCG for an additional two years to do a residency in Prosthodontics and become a specialist. He then went on to another one-year residency at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York, to become a Maxillofacial Prosthodontist in 1991.

In addition to Dentistry, Dr. Davis has many interests including sports and coaching. He has been coaching wrestling at Stockbridge High School since 2003. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and has a wife and four children.

Prosthodontist

Dr. Maria Pappas has expertise in cosmetic dentistry and modern dental techniques.

She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed a one year post graduate Advanced Education in General Dentistry Certificate from Virginia Commonwealth University followed by a rigorous three year training program leading to a Master of Science and Graduate Certificate of Prosthodontics.

Dr. Pappas subsequently joined the faculty of The Ohio State University as Assistant Professor. As an academician, her time was spent teaching dental students, providing excellent patient care, and pursuing research. In addition she found time to volunteer her time and services by traveling to underserved areas of the country to assist in dental care for those less fortunate.

She has published articles in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and completed further scholarly activities to become a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.

As a prosthodontist, Dr. Pappas has been trained to handle even the most difficult cases, with a specialty in customizing each individual dental solution with attention to detail and affordability.

Outside the dental office, Dr. Pappas enjoys reading, cooking, gardening and making jewelry. Most of all she enjoys spending time with her husband and their three beautiful children.
